Practice Leadership
The Challenge
As interim head of the 30 person Research Practice at Ad Hoc, I needed to maintain a sense of community and find new pathways for knowledge sharing during a time of growth and change. The Practice was slated to be combined with Design into a larger Experience practice, , necessitating a need to find Researcher identity in a larger group. In addition, practitioners needed to ensure their time was billable to their programs, so learning and skill building needed to be more directly tied to outcomes for client work.
Initiatives
Changed the format of the monthly All Hands meetings from updates to an interactive interactive knowledge sharing session, enabling hands-on learning
Championed new skill building initiatives including biweekly feedback sessions and specialized working groups focused on specific topics
Developed 1:1 relationships with every practitioner in order to understand their needs and professional goals.
